It's all over for Christina Aguilera as her last contestant Dez Duron crashes out of The Voice

Christina Aguilera's last season on The Voice has effectively ended early.
The pop superstar saw her last contestant in the TV talent show kicked off as the contestants were whittled down to six on Tuesday night's show.
Christina was perhaps not taken by complete surprise, however, as she had already twice discussed the possibility of her final protege Dez Duron getting eliminated before it finally happened.
Scroll down to watch Tuesday night's performances...

And Dez - kicked-off along with Cody Belew - also insisted it had been a worthwhile experience no matter what the outcome.
'Working with Christina and singing on this stage has been the greatest moment of my life up until now,' he said. 'Everything happens for a reason,  you've got to keep believing.'
When first asked how she would feel if Dez was eliminated, Christina said:  'It would be unfortunate, of course. But people go on after this show. The good ones always get record deals and remain strong. I will continue to support him, and love him 100 percent, and I'm sure many ladies will out there as well.
'The bottom line is this show is not about the competition between us coaches - it's about their journey up there and what they take away from here.'

Comparing it to her own experience as a child with the Mickey Mouse Club, she added: 'As I say I didn't win one of these shows either, but alongside Britney and Justin we went on to dominate pop music.
'I have no worries, win or lose, at this point.'
Later she told Dez: 'I believe in your talent through and through - this show does not define who you are. There is so much more to come for you.
'You will always be on Team Xtina and  will always support you.'
Scotsman Terry McDermott also had a nail-biting ending to the show as he was in the final four facing possible elimination.

Terry - who earlier put on a realistic-sounding American accent as he joked that his Scots voice was all for show - was never really likely to be eliminated, according to his confident coach Blake Shelton.
'You are a rule breaker and you tear down walls,' Blake had told him in the build up to the crunch decision.
'I have faith sitting here right now - I hate that they keep putting you down here almost giving you a heart attack - but I think America loves a Scottish accent. I don't think you're going home.'
That leaves six finalists from the initial 64 - along with Terry is Trevin Hunte, Cassaddee Pope, Amanda Brown, Melanie Martinez and Nicholas David.
Coach Adam Levine admitted: 'The truth is they are all capable of winning - all of you guys.'

Host Carson Daly had also pointed out that thee had been 'record breaking voting' and said: 'Not only did all eight artists chart on iTunes, Terry hit number one in the rock chart, Melanie hit number one in the alternative chart, and three artists were in the top 10 singles chart.'
During the show, Amanda Brown and Trevin Hunte teamed up to sing Lady Gaga's Marry The Night, with Amanda in a short silver dress and a black leather jacket and Trevin in a black denim jack with cut-off sleeves and studded shoulders.
Terry McDermott, Nicholas David, Cody Belew and Melanie Martinez teamed up for a group performance of Plain White T's Rhythm of Love, while Cassiddee Pop and Dez Duron sang a duet on Hate That I Love You by Rihanna and Ne-Yo.

But by far the most entertaining performance came as Cee Lo was joined for a duet by Kermit the Frog, watched on by other stars from The Muppets sitting in the judges' chairs.
'You know I've always wanted to be on the show,' Kermit told Cee Lo, who was wearing an outrageous green safari hat and matching vest with mirrors on them. 'I always thought team red zone could use a splash of colour.'
Cee Lo then told him he wanted to sing a song 'that really, really represents the way I've been feeling' - starting a slow piano-led ballad version of Kermit's 'It's Not Easy Being Green'.
Meanwhile viewers saw how Cee Lo invited performers from previous seasons to sing backing vocals on his Christmas hit All I Need Is Love with the Muppets.
'Never in a million years did I ever think I would get to perform with the muppets!,' current finalist Trevin Hunte admitted. 'I'm going to go out there and tear it up.'
