His coat is surely on a very shaky peg on Two and a Half Men.
But it seems Angus T Jones at least has a back-up option, after being invited to appear on his old co-star Charlie Sheen's programme Anger management.
The 47-year-old actor, who left the show himself in March 2011 after mocking the show's creator Chuck Lorre, says his little friend is always welcome on his new show.
Time to get round the negotiating table? Charlie Sheen has offered his old co-star Angus T Jones a role on Anger Management
It follows the born again 19-year-old star launching a tirade against the sitcom, begging people not to watch it after labelling it “filth” and that it is against his Christian beliefs.
Charlie, who played his uncle on the hit show, said: 'My former nephew is welcome at the Goodson Anger Management home any time.'
He has also said Angus' criticism of Two and a Half Men is understandable because it is an emotional tsunami.
Mr Sheen added: 'I dare anyone to spend 10 years in the laugh-track that is Chuck Lorre's hive of oppression and not suffer some form of an emotional tsunami.
Putting his foot in it: Angus labelled Two and a Half Men 'filth' when he appeared on camera with pastor Christopher Hudson
'Obviously, not having been there for some time, the Angus T. Jones that I knew and still love is not the same guy I saw on YouTube yesterday.
'With Angus' Hale-Bopp-like meltdown, it is radically clear tome that the show is cursed.'
But sources close to Angus have broken ranks to tell TMZ he is digging his heels in and refuses to quit the show.
An insider said he feels terrible he caused huge problems for the cast and crew, and that when he recorded the video trashing the show he had no idea the story would blow up.
New show: Charlie has rebounded with Anger Management since being sacked last year from his old programme
Apparently Angus has always felt 'invisible' and no one really cared what he thought about the show or anything else, leaving him stunned at the reaction.
He is determined to finish the season and complete his contractual obligations on the show.
However it is also almost certain, he will not come back after this season.
In fact he supposedly wanted to quit after last season, but his management and family convinced him it would be 'stupid' to walk out on a contract that could earn him as much as $15 million.
New line-up: Angus has been starring alongside Jon Cryer and new star Ashton Kutcher following Mr Sheen's departure
Sources from the show have said Angus will not be sacked from his starring role, and although he is not written into the next two episodes he is expected back on set next month.
Meanwhile his pastor Christopher Hudson denied that he was exploiting the actor, as the young star's mother Carey fears.
He said he had spoken to Jones since the video was made public, adding: 'I respect his mother and the love she has for her child and her need to protect him. She is concerned about his well being as are many other people.
He's not a puppet: Pastor Christopher Hudson has spoken out to say Angus made his rant of his own volition
'But Angus has not had a breakdown and I am not manipulating him. He said let's do an interview - and I turned on the camera.
'Angus is a very educated, thoughtful young man. What was expressed in the video was from the sincere heart of a young man.
Jones gave a bizarre testimony where he said: 'If you watch Two and a Half Men, please stop watching. I'm on Two and a Half Men and I don't want to be on it.
'Please stop watching it and filling your head with filth. People say it’s just entertainment.
'Do some research on the effects of television and your brain, and I promise you you’ll have a decision to make when it comes to television and especially with what you watch on television ... it's bad news.'
