Man Men star Kiernan Shipka revealed an edgier side
last night as she attended day one of New York Fashion Week wearing a
sharp military-inspired outfit.
The child actress looked well beyond her 12 years in a scarlet tailored jacket, tuxedo shirt and pearl earrings as she appeared at the Ralph Lauren children's show.
Dressed head-to-toe in the American designer's apparel Ms Shipka, who shot to fame as Sally Draper on the hit AMC series, promptly took her seat on the front row as she watched the catwalk demonstration get underway.
In advance of showing his adult spring / summer 2013 collections next week Ralph Lauren, 72, showed his collection for girls and boys.
While
at the show Ms Shipka, who is known for her smart sense of style,
revealed that she has already got her dress for the Emmys on September
23.
The starlet toldIn Style:'I really love the dress that I’m wearing and I think it’s going to be a special red carpet moment.”
A total of 46 looks from both the Fall 2012 Ralph Lauren Girls collection and Holiday line were on display.
Mr Lauren closed the show hand in hand with some of the youngest models to grace the runway.
Ms Shipka, who is originally from Chicago but now based in Los Angeles with her family, previously noted Portugese children's brand Papo D'Anjo and Ralph Lauren as her favourite designers.
She also has regular input into her Mad Men wardrobe, overseen by costume designer Janie Bryant.
Kiernan started her career as a model,aged six, and then moved on to auditioning before scoring the part of Sally Draper.
She has been homeschooled - but is said to be two grades ahead of her peers.
