Late night? Make-up free Katie Holmes looks exhausted as she arrives at the theatre the day after turning 34

Christmas may be around the corner, but the motto of the entertainment industry is 'the show must go on'.
And so Katie Holmes duly made her way to the nightly performance of her Dead Accounts, the Broadway play in which she is currently starring, on Wednesday afternoon.
The actress seems determined to leave the glitz and glamour of Hollywood behind as she was spotted arriving on foot, with her face free of makeup and her hair loose and unstyled.

The brunette cut a lonely figure as she arrived at the Music Box Theatre in Midtown Manhattan wearing her new favourite Balenciaga coat, skinny jeans and a colourblock Delvaux satchel.
Katie tried to her best to blend into the crowds milling about before entering through the stage door.
Since arriving in the city earlier in the year she has  been making a concerted effort to act like an average New Yorker even riding the subway.

Katie celebrated her 34th birthday yesterday her first as a divorcee but rather than mark the occasion with a party the single mother chose a more low key visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art with daughter Suri, 6.
Earlier in the day the two enjoyed breakfast at the Upper West Side bistro, bakery and chocolatier Sugar and Plumm, a source told Us Weekly.
After feasting on silver dollar pancakes and eggs benedict, Holmes was given a birthday surprise by pastry chef Pichet Ong: a homemade vanilla sponge cake layered with strawberry jam and vanilla buttercream frosting that said Happy Birthday Katie.

Katie has been making the most of her time her daughter ahead of Christmas as she will be spending the holiday with her father and half-siblings Conor and Isabella in Los Angeles.
The Sun reported on Monday that the Batman actress will still be showering her daughter with gifts, which include a £15,000 Victorian playhouse, a £6,000 miniature Mercedes Benz, an iPad mini and some new additions to her wardrobe, with a Chloe fur coat and a Ralph Lauren dress reportedly on the list.
But she still has plenty to keep her occupied in the Big Apple as Dead Accounts is scheduled to run through to the end of February.

They're all American boys! One Direction land in LAX days before Christmas as it is revealed they turned down condom deal

One Direction look like they may be getting used to all this travelling.
The fivesome landed in LAX on Tuesday morning and looked every inch the jet setting boyband as they landed in the west coast.
Although it  isn't clear why the boyband have gone back to the states in the days before Christmas they looked world weary as they landed at the airport.

Harry Styles, 18, covered his trademark curls with a orange beanie as he left the airport in a Rush T-shirt and dark jeans.
Whereas Zayn Malik, 19, looked more rock and roll than cheesy boy band as he walked through arrivals in a dark jacket and stonewashed jeans.
The boyband members are fast becoming the next hot thing stateside with a shop in New York and a huge US fan base.

Their trip comes as it was reported that the boys had turned down an offer from a condom organisation to be the faces of safe sex.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: 'The offer was enormous and tied into a safe sex organisation in the US. It came from one of the biggest brands in the world.
'While the boys didn't sneer at the money, they felt their fans were slightly too young for this type of project.

Liam said he wouldn't like to endorse condoms - unlike JLS - because there would be too many jokes made about the group.
Hopefully Liam is not visiting the Empire State Building on this trip after he slammed the security on Twitter.

Thinking of signing her up early? Holly Madison shows off her growing baby bump at Miss Universe pageant

She's said it's been a challenge to feel sexy while pregnant but Holly Madison certainly rose to the occasion on Wednesday night.
The former Playboy model showed off her growing baby bump on the red carpet at the Miss Universe pageant in Las Vegas and looked stunning in a blue gown.
The 32-year-old blonde, who is expecting her first child next year, joined a host of stars at the event as beauty queens from 89 countries prepared to compete for the crown.

Holly's patterned number was the perfect compliment to her growing shape, with a draping neckline and back cut-out adding just a touch of sexiness to her ensemble without going over the top.
She wore her hair in curls swept behind her shoulders and drop earrings that added a bit of light near her face.
Holding her stomach with neatly manicured red nails, she smiled for photographers and proudly showed off her frame.

The former Girls Next Door star, who is expecting a baby girl with partner Pasquale Rotella, recently revealed she is still getting used to her new shape.
She toldIn Touch magazine: ''Feeling sexy is a real challenge for me because I have this basketball on my stomach. It’s weird!' she says. 'I’m just getting used to this whole new body. It can be very awkward.'
Holly was joined on the red carpet by the evening's co-hosts Andy Cohen and Giuliana Rancic, who started the evening in a classic black gown with a sweetheart neckline and fitted bodice.

Television personality, fashion expert and pageant co-host Jeannie Mai dazzled in an embellished bustier and floor-sweeping fuchsia skirt that showed off her tanned and toned legs.
Miss Universe 2011, Leila Lopes, Miss Universe 2011, wore a gold sequinned gown with a draped halter neckline, while television and radio personality and pageant judge Claudia Jordan went for a more electric - and garish - yellow gown with a bejewelled bodice.

In the final stages of the competition, she answered a question about her regrets by saying she wished she hadn't picked on her siblings.
The 61st annual Miss Universe featured performances by the band Train and Australian singer Timomatic.
Andy Cohen and Giuliana Rancic returned to host the pageant, which was back in Las Vegas after being held in Sao Paulo last year.
The panel of 10 judges also includes singer Cee Lo Green and Iron Chef star Masaharu Morimoto.
Asked whether he found playing in the World Series or judging the beauty pageant to be more difficult, Sandoval said both were hard.

Miss Universe 2011, Leila Lopes of Angola, said she expected this night to be the worst part of her year. She offered some advice to the women vying for her crown.
'Be calm and smile,' she said. 'Smiling helps a lot. Even though they are not relaxed, the judges will think that they are.'
The group of contestants from six continents was cut to 16 soon after the start of the show based on preliminary competitions.
Miss USA Olivia Culpo was one of those who advanced to the finals. The 20-year-old from Cranston, Rhode Island, is a sophomore at Boston University and a self-described 'cellist-nerd.' She was the first Miss USA winner from Rhode Island when she took the national crown in Las Vegas in June.
Organisers had considered holding the contest in the popular Dominican Republic tourist city of Punta Cana, but Miss Universe Organization President Paula Shugart said that country's financial crisis proved to be too much of an obstacle.

The diverse group of contestants spent the past two weeks in Las Vegas, where they posed in hardhats at a hotel groundbreaking, took a painting lesson, and pranked hotel guests by hiding in their rooms.
'I've seen them and they are absolutely gorgeous,' said Trump. 'They're very nervous and they should be. It's a billion people (watching).'
On the eve of the pageant, the organisation announced it had won a defamation suit against a woman who claimed this year's Miss USA contest, also owned by Trump, was fixed.
The winner of the Miss USA crown goes on to represent her country in the Miss Universe contest.
Contestants cannot have been married or have children. They must be younger than 27 and older than 18 by Feb. 1 of the competition year.

Taking the plunge! Jenna Dewan-Tatum and Kelly Osbourne put their ample curves on show in stunning gowns at Vh1 Divas event

With their plunging gowns and enviable curves very much on show, its no surprise that the VH1 Divas red carpet belonged to Jenna Dewan-Tatum and Kelly Osbourne on Sunday night.
The stunning wife of actor Channing Tatum wore a beautiful baby blue strapless gown which struggled to contain her ample curves as she pouted for photographers at The Shrine Auditorium.
Kelly, 28, sported a pretty white knee-length dress and striking zebra print shoes for her arrival at the Los Angeles arena.

Her purple hair was pulled into a side ponytail, but she seemed particularly proud of her striking black and white heels.
'Look how cool the @charlottes_web shoes I am wearing tonight for #Vh1divas are!' she wrote on her Twitter page. 'Talk about a #StatementShoe!'
